Play The Secret World With An XBox 360 Controller
There have been many people asking how to use a controller with The Secret World and I am providing you with that insight today. The game does not support controllers natively, but with its 7 active skills approach it is perfect for such controls.
To begin I use the program called Xpadder which you can find their site at http://xpadder.com/. The program does cost $9.99, but other options exist. Since I used their program though, I am not going to provide links to other free options.
In the image above you will see the controller in the Xpadder program. Below it I will outline the basic functions which I had included. I have also provided a video that explains and demonstrates the use of the controller for your convenience.
What Is Smite?
With the top contenders in the MOBA scene such as League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, and DOTA 2, there is no way there is new room for another top quality MOBA. Hi-Rez Studios decides to challenge that with their new MOBA called SMITE.
SMITE is an upcoming free to play MOBA in the mythological world of gods and goddesses featuring the three lane map design we have come to love since the original DOTA. However, Hi-Rez has decided to abandon the isometric viewpoint for an over the shoulder third person view. Read the rest of this entry »
IS TERA Online PvP Awesome?
From February 24-26 I entered the world of TERA Online in their second closed beta test (CBT2) and rolled on a new Open World PvP Server. I created myself an Elin berserker and began my leveling experience. Once I hit level 11 I was finally able to participate in open world player vs. player game play.
However, it seems it is not all roses. There are several issues with level and gear difference as well as safe zones, one on one fights, and channel hopping.
With the bad though there is the good. There is actually open world PvP and you feel as if you can control the outcome of flight or fight. Some things are questionable, but watch my video and learn more.
Can Lag Affect TERA?
NOTICE: I have pre-ordered the Physical Collector’s Edition of TERA and will be excited to get it and play. So I am a fan of TERA.
Controversy of the possible effects of lag and or latency issues have been brought up over the past week in regards to TERA Online, an up and coming action MMORPG developed by Bluehole Studios and published in North America by En Masse Entertainment.
Too Many Quests
The Flashback (NOTE: This section merely contains a small story to put you in the right mindset. You can skip if you are unwilling to understand the setting.)
Picture yourself having just purchased the latest in greatest Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) called Exteria, a world in which the artist of the game have beautifully sculpted the characters, the land, and so much more. The game has caught your attention in more ways than one as a list of features have flashed before your eyes over the past several months that makes you all giddy inside:
- “Make your own story!”
- “Control your destiny!”
- “Become the hero!”
- “Be the action!”
You load up the character select screen and slowly design the character to fit your own needs and wants. Increasing the size of certain features and slightly tuning the most peculiar of options. Your character is set, your name is chosen, and you finally get to click play for the first time.
Your character gracefully enters into the game with an elegant cut scene portraying your character as the future of this living and breathing world. The cut scene fades to black as it finishes loading the starting area for your character and you now have control. Directly in front of you is a quest giver, your first interaction with the game design. You approach the quest giver choosing to interact with it and begin to read the story in front of you:
“Hello Hero, welcome to Exteria. I am so glad that you are here as we are in dire need of your help. Our lands have become ravaged with beasts of all sorts of creation and we are unable to defend the villagers. Please assist us by talking with one of the guards.”
You look ahead and see a guard standing by a tall pillar with other players surrounding him, new recruits to help fight in the war to save Exteria from the ravenous beasts which have invaded. You approach the guard and he shouts:
“Woah! A fine new recruit. I must put you to work immediately. Quickly take this sword and assist us in defending this town. Destroy 10 bears and you will have saved the day.”
Thus begins the journey of a hero, to forever be at the mercy of soldiers unwilling to fight themselves who request of you to kill 10 of this or 10 of that, or perhaps just collect those 10 flowers out there in the yard as they will aid us in the fight greatly…somehow.
